As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health.  Our focus is to provide “dental health care and wellness training” vs. simply doing “disease care”.  That’s why we begin our care with a personal interview to find your objectives, share our philosophy and get to know you. We follow this with a comprehensive exam – including checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, doing a tour of your mouth using an intra-oral camera following up with taking any necessary x-rays and digital photos and possibly study models to give the Doctor all  the necessary information to give a  comprehensive treatment plan.  We also know that routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are all helpful in preventing dental disease.  Not only are we focused on the beauty of your smile, we’re also concerned about your health.  In addition to reviewing your medical history, we often take the pH of your saliva, as we have found strong coorelation between a patient's salivary pH and their overall dental health and risk for dental disease. Doing a simple review of lifestyle, diet and medications in addition to medical condition, we can fairly consistantly predict and advise patients on how to significantly reduce their risk of dental problems in the future.

Infection control in our office is also very important to us.  To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
